Prior to CES 2021, Acer announced its latest Chromebook Spin 514, which works with AMD Ryzen processors and for the first time in its Chrome OS devices. To raise the company’s level of this type of computers, especially as it comes with units of Radeon Vega graphics processors.
The Acer device comes with a lightweight 2-in-1 design with an ultra-thin top and comes with two AMD processor options; They are the Ryzen 7 3700C and Ryzen 5 3500C, both of which bring a Radeon Vega graphics processor integrated into the same chip.
Acer will allow users to get a RAM with two options of 4 GB or 16 GB, along with a storage capacity of 128 GB of eMMC or 256 GB of SSD.
The device will bring a 14-inch IPS LCD touch screen with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080, and the screen is covered with a scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass 3 layer.
The Chromebook Spin 514 adds a 42-watt-hour battery that Acer says can work up to 10 hours on a single charge.
The device will also provide two USB C ports, two USB 3.2 ports, the first generation, as well as a microSD port for external memory cards, and an HDMI port in some versions. It will also support dual microphone, HD camera, Bluetooth 5.0 and WiFi 5.0.
Chromebook Spin 514 price and arrival
The new Chromebook Acer will arrive on the market in February with a starting price of 480 dollars in the United States and Canada, while it will arrive in Europe in March, at a price of approximately 530 euros. Business and corporate copies will also be available, starting at $ 750 in North America and € 800 in Europe.
It is worth noting that Acer is usually launching its devices in the Middle East in conjunction with its launch in Europe.
