Huawei revealed the increase in the entire system of Huawei’s HMS mobile services, which now includes 1.6 million developers from around the world and uses its services for 700 million Huawei device users so far. This rapid growth reflects the confidence that application developers and Huawei users feel towards the integrated Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) ecosystem and demonstrates Huawei’s commitment to work with content providers in the local markets.
Huawei was able to achieve this thanks to its focus on supporting local developers through a wide range of solutions, to provide them with design innovative experiences for its users. It was able to provide high-quality government and commercial applications within the Huawei AppGallery store, including the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) application, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Dubai Consumer, Talabat requests and many others. These applications allow users to pay their bills, manage their accounts, and access various government services.
Besides that, the advanced security and protection features in Huawei AppGallery have provided many important banking and financial applications, such as the Commercial Bank of Dubai application to its growing portfolio of mobile banking applications that contribute to its continued success.
The launch of the CBD app within the AppGallery app store provides users across the UAE with additional options to meet their banking requirements easily, as they can access their account balances and monthly account statements, and even manage their daily activities such as paying bills through the app.
Keith Lee, Director of Huawei Consumer Business Group in the UAE, said: “Huawei continues to invest heavily in supporting local developers in the UAE to increase engagement and deliver essential apps to users across the UAE. Our partnership with Commercial Bank of Dubai (CBD) is crucial as we strive to grow our portfolio of financial apps available on AppGallery and provide convenience in managing financial operations for consumers here in the UAE. ”
Luo Jing added: “We have been able to achieve success in Huawei mobile services by gaining the trust of developers and consumers alike. Since our app store is one of the top three app stores around the world, Huawei has invested heavily in localization to bring the best local content and apps to its smart device user base here in the UAE. We will continue to work closely with local content providers to bring the most innovative applications to consumers in the UAE. ”
Dr. Bernd Van Linder, Chief Executive Officer of Commercial Bank of Dubai said: “We would like to congratulate Huawei on this achievement and the growth the company has achieved over the past three decades very quickly to become one of the largest telecom companies in the world, attracting 700 million users. We are pleased to cooperate with Huawei because it helps us provide the latest digital solutions to our customers and complements our continuous efforts to become “essentially digital” and to offer our customers the best banking experience ever. ”
Amit Malhotra, General Manager, Individual Banking Group at Commercial Bank of Dubai, said: “We are delighted to partner with Huawei to jointly promote our CBD Digi account as the most rewarding account in the UAE. Customers can open a CBD Digi account instantly using only Emirates ID and smartphones, and we offer customers the best banking experience with a valuable set of features and benefits. Moreover, the monthly and quarterly Huawei vouchers that CBD Digi account customers can win are an addition to the rich and exciting experience and an enhancement of customer satisfaction. ”
Huawei cooperates with local partners to strengthen partnerships on a large scale and to help them provide more innovative experiences to users. Huawei also supports local content providers in a number of ways, including social media, public relations and marketing, in addition to advertising through flyers within its app store.
Developers who collaborate with Huawei are also promoted via the AppGallery home page and through advertisements and notifications to enhance their popularity. Huawei’s commitment to localization is the main force that enables it to support local app creators. The brand also runs joint campaigns regularly, for example, 12 partners joined the AppGallery Eid Live campaign through posts on social media and sponsored the draw during the live broadcast to promote both parties. Through this collaboration, Commercial Bank of Dubai’s social media accounts attracted more than 3,000 followers during the AppGallery Eid Live broadcast, resulting in 27% of the bank’s customers purchasing Huawei devices.
In order for users to be able to easily manage their financial affairs via their smartphones, Huawei has provided the application with security and privacy features, which contributes to enhancing the comprehensive protection of the Huawei mobile services system. And AppGallery has a comprehensive security and protection system that ensures developer information verification, all apps on the market are secure and user data privacy is maintained. The HUAWEI AppGallery also meets strict domestic and international security standards in both GAPP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and the European Union General Data Protection Regulation to protect users when they use payment services via apps.
Huawei is committed to continuing to enhance its investment in the local community, and to cooperate with local partners to increase interaction. With the aim of encouraging local and regional developers to join AppGallery, Huawei held its first developer day in the MENA region last year as part of the $ 1 billion Shining Star program to stimulate global developers, and this initiative has so far resulted in more than 10,000 innovative applications.
Huawei AppGallery has become one of the top three global application markets very quickly, and the integrated system for Huawei developers has grown by 76% as of 2019, to more than 1.6 million developers today. AppGallery is now available in over 170 countries / territories and has more than 400 million monthly active users globally.
